TOP Twinlight Dixie Fabric
9 colourways, zebra: 5 cm sheer bands and 7.5 cm solid bands (2 in and 3 in), 280 cm roll. TOP Window Covering fabric, made into zebra shades in our Fort Lauderdale workroom and installed from Miami to Palm Beach.
Fine stripes in nine plain neutrals, for the ordinary windows of a whole house
Twinlight Dixie is the narrow-band half of TOP Window Covering's Dixie pair. Its sheer bands are 5 cm, about two inches, and its solid bands 7.5 cm, about three, so on the window it reads as a fine, even stripe. The cloth, a heat-set polyester, is 0.35 mm thick and 140 g/m2, the same thickness and weight TOP gives for Dixie XL. The nine colourways are plain neutrals, from Ice White, Ivory and Beige through Nougat and Light Gray to Anthracite, Dark Brown and Black, an easy card for a whole-house order where every room takes a quiet colour.
TOP publishes no light or solar figures for Dixie, so the decision rests on the sample. Read by colour, the card still gives a clear range: Black and Anthracite should close to the darkest shade and keep the clearest view out through the open stripes, while Ice White and Ivory should keep the room brightest and send the most heat back out. TOP rates colour fastness to light at 5 - 6, a good rating for sunny glass. The trade-off is the missing data: where night privacy has to be known before ordering, Dixie XL in Gunmetal publishes what Dixie does not.
What Twinlight Dixie does on your glass, and what it does not
Best use
Standard windows in bedrooms, studies, kitchens and condo living rooms, where a fine stripe is seen at close range and the brief is a quiet neutral. Take Black or Anthracite where a room should close dark, Ice White or Ivory where it must stay bright and the glass is hot. On a wide slider wall, take Dixie XL instead; on ordinary windows, Dixie.
Privacy
Closed in daylight, the bands hide the room in all nine colours; open, the sheer bands give a view in from close by. After dark there is no published figure. Expect Ice White, Ivory and Beige to show silhouettes when the room is lit and Black to hide more, and check it with a lamp behind the sample. Where night privacy must be certain, a blackout honeycomb or a dual roller is the safer shade.
Glare control
Closed, the solid band softens the glare in the pale colours and should hold it down in Black and Anthracite, though with no published light figure we would test the sample against the screen before promising it. Open, the sheer stripes let the sun through in bands, the low evening sun included, which a television facing the window will show.
Limitations
Dixie is not a blackout and not a heat shade: with the bands open, the sheer stripes pass most of the sun. There are no published optical figures, so it cannot go into a specification that quotes them, and no fire listing for a hotel or a condo common area. If you need a number, Dixie XL has the same cloth weight with figures.

Where Twinlight Dixie works here
We would use Dixie on the ordinary windows of a South Florida house or condo, the bedrooms, the study, the kitchen, where a fine stripe looks right at arm's length and one neutral keeps the street side of the building even. In a house in Plantation or Weston, a single colour such as Ivory or Light Gray can run through every room. On a wall of sliders, the wide bands of Dixie XL suit the scale better. Lutron or Somfy motors close a whole floor's bands together.
Twinlight Blues has the same narrow bands on a thicker, heavier cloth, in nine neutrals with published light figures; Dixie is the lighter cloth and the one with a Black.
Twinlight Dixie: frequently asked
Dixie or Dixie XL?
Same thickness and weight, different bands. Dixie's are 5 cm sheer and 7.5 cm solid, a fine stripe for standard windows and rooms you see up close; Dixie XL's are wider, which suits sliders and tall glass. Dixie XL also publishes light figures and has a different ten-colour card, while Dixie has the Black, Beige and Nougat that XL does not.
How wide can a zebra shade in TOP Twinlight Dixie be?
TOP makes Twinlight Dixie in a 280 cm (110 in) roll. The roll width is the widest single piece we can cut, so one zebra shade can be made a little under 110 inches wide. Wider openings get two zebra shades side by side, set to move together, or a split placed where a mullion hides it. We confirm the exact limit for the operating system when we measure.
Which shades can be made in Twinlight Dixie?
Twinlight Dixie is a zebra shade fabric: one continuous loop of fabric with alternating sheer and solid bands. We buy it from TOP Window Covering and make the zebra shades in our Fort Lauderdale workroom, on a manual chain or motorized on Lutron or Somfy, and our own team installs them from Miami to Palm Beach.
Can I see Twinlight Dixie samples before ordering?
Yes. Shortlist the colours here and we bring TOP samples of them to the in-home consultation, so you can hold them against your own glass in your own light. Our Fort Lauderdale workroom (4539 Powerline Rd, by appointment) and Miami Beach showroom (500 South Pointe Dr #150) have motorized shades running if you want to see one move.
