A strongly textured see-through roller in five colours, with a zebra version
Reve Transparent is a see-through roller fabric from TOP Window Covering with a strongly textured face, which makes the shade read as a textile rather than a screen. It is a heat-set polyester at 160 g/m2 on a 280 cm roll (110 inches). There are five colours, White, Light Beige, Gray, Brown and Chocolate, and TOP classes all of them as transparent: pulled down, the shade softens the outlook and leaves it readable. It suits a living room, a study or a dining room where the window is part of the decorating.
TOP publishes no light or solar figures for Reve, and its datasheet gives no humid-room listing, so the colour is chosen with samples at the window. The usual rules apply: Chocolate and Brown give the clearest view out and absorb the most heat, while White glows and softens the view more. The caution is fading. TOP rates the cloth 4 - 5 for colour fastness to light, the lowest of the transparent rollers in this library, so we would keep it off windows that take direct sun for most of the day.
What Reve Transparent does on your glass, and what it does not
Best use
A study, a dining room, a reading corner, a living room window under a porch roof: rooms where the shade is part of the decorating and the window is shaded for most of the day. White or Light Beige for a bright room, Brown or Chocolate where the view out matters most. On a west window that takes the afternoon, pick a fabric with a higher light-fastness rating.
Privacy
Daytime softening only. In daylight someone near the glass sees shapes and movement through it, more readily through Chocolate than through White. After dark, with lamps on, the room is in view. Where night privacy matters, take the zebra version, where offset bands close the view, or add a blackout behind on a dual roller.
Glare control
With no published figures, rely on the class: transparent means a large share of the light comes through, so Reve takes the hard edge off a bright window and not much more. A television or a monitor facing it will wash out with sun on the glass, and a low sun in line with the window shows through. In a room built around a screen, choose a solar screen.
Limitations
Not for sunny west or south glass, where a 4 - 5 light-fastness rating means the colour fades sooner than on a higher-rated cloth. TOP gives no humid-room listing, so we would not put it in a bathroom. It will not darken a room or hide a lit one. If you like the texture but need privacy, a zebra shade in Twinlight Reve is the better buy.

Where Reve Transparent works here
In South Florida we would use Reve on shaded and north-facing windows: a study, a dining room under a covered terrace, a living room window behind a porch roof. The light-fastness rating is the reason to keep it off unshaded west and south glass. Where the room also needs privacy at night, the zebra version gives one shade a closed position that this open roller cannot.

Why are there no light figures for Reve?
TOP does not list them on the Reve datasheet. That leaves two guides: the class, transparent, which means the view stays and much of the light comes through, and the samples. We bring Reve to the window at the time of day you use the room, because a textured cloth looks different with the sun behind it than it does on a table.
How wide can a roller shade in TOP Reve Transparent be?
TOP makes Reve Transparent in a 280 cm (110 in) roll. The roll width is the widest single piece we can cut, so one roller shade can be made a little under 110 inches wide. Wider openings get two roller shades side by side, set to move together, or a split placed where a mullion hides it. We confirm the exact limit for the operating system when we measure.
Which shades can be made in Reve Transparent?
Reve Transparent is a roller shade fabric. We buy it from TOP Window Covering by the roll and make the shades ourselves in our Fort Lauderdale workroom: cut square, finished with a weighted hem bar and fitted to a Lutron, Somfy or Crestron motor or a manual chain, then installed by our own team from Miami to Palm Beach.
