A heavy, textured see-through roller for wide openings, paired with a Roma blackout
Roma Transparent is the heaviest see-through roller fabric from TOP Window Covering in our library: 225 g/m2 and 0.6 mm of polyester with an acrylic foam coating, woven with a texture that gives the shade some body at the window. It comes on a 300 cm roll (118 inches), wide enough to cover a broad slider in one piece. TOP classes it as transparent, so the view stays. Seven colours sit in an earthy range: Ice White and Off White, the mid-tones Pebble Stone and Brindle, and the dark Slate, Hickory and Espresso. It suits living rooms and dens with wide glass.
The figures split the card in two. Ice White and Off White pass about 39 percent of the visible light and reflect 54.9 and 55.4 percent of the sun's energy, so they keep a room bright and turn much of the heat back at the glass. Slate, Hickory and Espresso pass 14 to 15.2 percent and give the clearest view out, but absorb up to 58.8 percent of the solar energy and warm up at the window. TOP rates the colours 6-7 for fastness to light, a high rating, and lists the cloth for humid rooms.

Best use
Wide openings in living rooms, family rooms and dens where you want daylight, the view and a cloth with some weight to it. Ice White or Off White for a bright room or a sunny exposure, Pebble Stone or Brindle as the middle ground, Slate, Hickory or Espresso where the view out comes first. On a slider up to 118 inches, this is the transparent to choose.
Privacy
It softens the view by day without closing it: shapes near the glass read from outside, more clearly through the dark colours, which return less daylight to the street. After dark, with lamps on, the room is visible through every colour. For a bedroom or a street-facing room, add the Roma blackout behind it on a dual roller.
Glare control
The dark colours do the most: Slate passes Tv 14 and Hickory 14.7, enough to take the brightness off a sky without losing the outlook. Ice White at 39.8 glows on a sunny window. A television facing the glass is workable behind the darks in soft light and still washes out in direct sun. No weave this open removes a low sun sitting in the window.
Limitations
At 0.6 mm this is a thick cloth for a roller, so a tall shade builds a large roll: settle the pocket or cassette size before ordering. The dark colours turn most of the sun's energy into heat at the glass. It does not darken a room, it hides nothing at night, and TOP lists no fire rating.

Roma is the transparent we would put on a wide slider, because 118 inches covers many sliders in a single shade and the heavier cloth hangs with weight across that span. Ice White or Off White on a living room facing the Intracoastal keeps the room bright and the water in view; Slate or Espresso suits a den where the view matters more than the light. In the bedrooms, the same colour names come as a blackout.
Roma Blackout White Backing carries the same seven colour names on the same 300 cm roll as a full blackout with a white back, which makes the two an easy pair on a dual roller.

Which Roma colour for a sunny window?
A pale one, if heat matters more than the view. Ice White and Off White absorb as little as 5.6 percent of the sun's energy and reflect over half of it back out. Slate and Hickory absorb most of what reaches them and warm the air at the glass. If the view comes first, take a dark colour and accept the heat, or put a solar screen at the glass instead.
How wide can a roller shade in TOP Roma Transparent be?
TOP makes Roma Transparent in a 300 cm (118 in) roll. The roll width is the widest single piece we can cut, so one roller shade can be made a little under 118 inches wide. Wider openings get two roller shades side by side, set to move together, or a split placed where a mullion hides it. We confirm the exact limit for the operating system when we measure.

Roma Transparent is a roller shade fabric. We buy it from TOP Window Covering by the roll and make the shades ourselves in our Fort Lauderdale workroom: cut square, finished with a weighted hem bar and fitted to a Lutron, Somfy or Crestron motor or a manual chain, then installed by our own team from Miami to Palm Beach.
